Developmental Education Course Track

Iowa Central College Online offers remedial classes to students in order to make sure that prospective students meet the Freshman competency and preparedness level. Remedial classes can be waived from the program through transfer credit, placement test scores, or official ACT/SAT results.

Iowa Central Community College expects all students to begin degree programs at a college freshman level. To verify that students meet this criteria, upon entrance to Iowa Central, students must furnish college transcripts and/or placement test scores dated within the past three years. Placement test scores must be dated within the last three years to be considered. Iowa Central accepts the following placement tests: ACT, SAT, Accuplacer, Compass, and ASSET.

If these measures are not submitted prior to the start of class, students may be required to complete additional remedial classes. Students must earn a “C” grade or better in all remedial courses to advance to the next level.
