Criminal Justice (CJ) Program
How would you like to answer a higher calling - and earn a higher income while you're at it?
Now you can do just that, by advancing your career with Iowa Central College's online Associates of Science in Criminal Justice program. With all the course work offered via Internet, you can take classes on your terms. This kind of flexibility means there's nothing standing between you and an advanced degree - and the higher earning potential that comes along with it.
Today, our local law enforcement must be prepared to fight global threats. With a specific focus on homeland security, Iowa Central's online Criminal Justice program does just that.
In addition, Iowa Central hosts the state's Homeland Security Training Center, which trains first responders throughout Iowa. Training includes Terrorism Awareness, Incident Command, Bombing Awareness, and Weapons of Mass Destruction. Before now, individuals had to travel miles to undergo training at one of these centers. But for the first time ever, this rigorous - and essential - coursework is available to you online.
What's more, we've hired the best faculty to help you earn a degree. Our team of educators averages 25 years of law enforcement experience, including a Chief of Police, the Director of a Homeland Security Training Center, a Deputy Sheriff, a Sergeant Detective, an instructor for the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in self defense and firearms training, a Correctional facilitator, an Investigator, US Marshall, a Narcotics Task Force Officer and an employee of the Department of Natural Resources.
This excellent level of instruction is just one of the reasons our criminal justice initiative has been applauded by the Iowa Central Homeland Security Training Center:
"Iowa Central is responding to a need for trained professionals to lead the fight against terrorism at state and local levels of government."
