Using EBSCO Host

Ebsco Host is similar to other periodical search databases that allow you to search for information by subject, keywords, and phrases. Some articles are available in full-text. You can also search with these same terms in an image database for photos, maps and flags. The following instructions will help you conduct a basic search for information.

1. Click the following link: EBSCOhost

2. Select Full-Text Resources

3. The default database is Academic Search Elite. Other databases you might want to use include Eric or MasterFILE Premier. You can search several at the same time by checking the boxes of the ones you want to use and then clicking on continue.

4. You are now in the search screen, which allows you to do a Basic Search by subject, keyword, or phrase. For a more advanced search, use Guided Search or Expert Search.

5. Your results are now listed on the screen with a brief citation of the articles found. If you do not find citations that match your search, you may want to narrow or broaden your search perimeters. Please note that not all articles will be available in Full Text.

6. The following page describes the layout of the Tabbed Results List.
