Class Length/Format
Classes are 8 weeks long. Students typically attend 2 classes at a time, 4 classes in a 16 week term.
How quickly can I earn my degree

Do you accept transfer credit
Iowa Central College Online accepts transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions. Our skilled admissions staff can explain transfer credit policies and provide pre-evaluations of previous credit based on unofficial transcripts. Many students are able to shorten their degree completion time by transferring in previous college credit.
What if I've never been to college
Many of Iowa Central s online students start the program with little or no college experience. Iowa Central's Associate programs are designed to provide students with job skills as well as the option of transferring to a 4 year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree. Our programs provide students with a strong academic foundation and tools to succeed in the job market and a four year academic setting.
How often do I need to be in class
While there are no strict guidelines regarding attendance, grades are determined in part by participation. In order to receive full credit, a student should post at minimum 4 days a week, and twice per day. Instructors will award points based on the students demonstration of knowledge and the level of effort put forth in each post.
How often do classes start
At Iowa Central Online, we start new classes monthly. Some degree programs may not begin new sessions monthly. Contact our admissions staff for comprehensive class start schedules.
Will my credits transfer to a four year college
Iowa Central College Online is regionally accredited and therefore credits are transferable to most colleges and universities. However, not all credits are guaranteed to transfer due to differences in programs and requirements among various institutions.
