Hardware & Software Requirements

Students must have the requirements listed below:

• DSL, or cable, High Speed broadband Connection (Dial-up/Modem Connection won’t work for these courses) connection speed must be 178kbps or higher
• Internet service provider (ISP) account
• 1.2 GHz or greater (Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon processors)
• Windows® 2000, XP, Vista *
• Microsoft® Office 2003 or higher
• Microsoft® Word
• Microsoft® PowerPoint
• Microsoft® Excel (for selected courses)
• Microsoft® Access (for selected courses)
• Microsoft® Visio 5.0 or later (for selected courses)
• A current anti-virus application
• 1GB RAM minimum; or higher
• 30 GB hard drive or larger
• 1024x768 or greater monitor and video card
• Sound card with speakers
• Access to a digital camera or web camera to take pictures for documentation of work done
• You must supply a monitor to use with the computer kit
• DVD, Floppy Drive, USB port 2.0
• Inkjet or laser printer
• E-mail address
• Browser Software
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or later
  • Mozilla FireFox 3.0 or higher

* Hard Drives must be formatted in NTFS
