Editorial IV: Opening a New Document

Opening a New Document

All of Window's applications follow the same file conventions for opening, saving and retrieving a document.  So, whether you are using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or any other application designed to run under Windows, the procedure will be the same.  We will use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for our working demonstration.

Now It's Your Turn ...

Now, open Microsoft Word.  Create a new document.  In the body of the document, type: This is a test.  Do not close Microsoft Word.  Minimize it by clicking on the uppermost _ box in the upper right hand corner of your screen.  Leave it alone for now, you will come back to it at the end of the next tutorial.
